Full Circle is an adults-only (18 & older only!) studio, with most students 30-80, including many "bucket-list retirees" who have always wanted to learn to play the fiddle or violin. The only thing better than playing music on your own is getting together with other, like-minded adults to play tunes together – while enjoying snacks, friendship and even the occasional glass of wine.
Violin & Fiddle Class for Absolute Beginners A few times each year we run our Absolute Beginner Group class for the complete novice. You'll learn the basics of playing, and six easy tunes, with lots of time for questions and fun games to build skills. Weekly 90-minute classes.
UpLevel UpLevel is the class for you if you started to learn violin then stalled or gave up, for whatever reason. This class will take you up one level – giving you the physical and emotional confidence to really enjoy playing the violin, without knowing advanced techniques. We'll review and practice the Basics, using simple music for fluency and flow, and help you fill in the gaps in your understanding of this beautiful instrument. (UpLevel assumes you're still learning to read music.) Offered whenever we have four interested students (so let us know if this is you!). Learn more
Tunes & Tech This super-fun group class is perfect for people who are comfortable reading music, have at least a year of instruction, and want to polish their current skills by playing with others. It's also a good choice for "back to music" players who have been away from the violin for years. You'll enjoy playing short snappy tunes – some with multiple parts – and learn skills training through music. Weekly 90-minute classes, always on Monday nights. Accompanied by local professional guitarist Cathy King
Traditional Celtic (Slow) Session Ever fantasize about playing your fiddle in an Irish pub? If you've been fiddling for at least two years and can read music, here's your chance to play traditional Celtic music – only at a really slow pace, with sheet music. Mandolins, flutes and whistles are also welcome to join our fiddlers. This is not a class; there's no instruction. We just play and enjoy the musical fun. (BYO Guinness optional.) Generally offered for 2-3 hours, four times a year. Professional guitar backup
