Meet Full Circle Students

Our classes and groups are designed for the adult learner and musician – with adults from all stages and places of life: retired, young parents, empty-nesters , grandparents , 18- 20-somethings and college students. Here are stories from just a few of our students' diverse musical journeys:

Barbara: Back to the Violin – after 50 Years
Barbara is a gifted, seasoned musician having received serious violin training from the age of 7 to adult. Then, she put away the violin for 50 years. A few years ago Barbara came to the Studio to begin once again, to reunite with her passion and expertise. We jumped in as a team, reclaiming technique, phrasing, musicianship & performing. Once these things were underway, Barbara chose to expand her style, which now includes Celtic music/fiddling, improvising, and blues. These days, Barbara plays first violin in a Portsmouth string ensemble. Wow. And brava, Barbara :-)

Jess: Composing Haunting and Beautiful Melodies
Jess has been receiving / composing / hearing beautiful and haunting melodies
for a few years now. She is developing her skills to put them on paper, create harmonies, and use chords to bring these melodies more fully to life and to make them available to other musicians.  From her original violin pieces, Jess has branched out, to create music for violin and guitar, featuring her brother on guitar.

Dee: Sharing Music with Hospice Patients
Dee played violin as a youngster but had not played for years when she returned to her music at Full Circle. Dee is a diligent and steady student, and has acquired much skill and super solid musicianship since her re-entry into music. From her first lessons Dee has shared her music with family, grandchildren, and friends. Now, through her compassionate spirit, she is also sharing her music with the hospice patients at Hyder House.  A true love ministry.

Richard: A New Gig – Interfaith Ministry
This program is from Richard's new performing group, the Interfaith Ministry, in the seacoast NH/ME area. He has been playing violin at special church events for a few years now, and
this gig is a natural next step with his musicianship. Since beginning to perform with them at retirement/assisted living facilities, Richard has begun studying accompaniment/back-up skills, and learning more fun tunes to share with his group. His musical personality has blossomed!
